If Only It Were This Easy!!!

This year I have gone out deer hunting 4-5 times and seen absolutely nothing that even looks like a deer. I have seen a bunch of squirrels (all shapes, colors, and sizes), birds, and an annoying opossum. I have tried for the last 3-4 years to get a deer. It doesn't even necessarily have to be a buck. I just would like to kill my first deer. This pictures just makes me sick. What are the chances of seeing five bucks under a trampoline when I haven't even seen one in the last 3 years I've been hunting. All I have to say to that is " If only it was that easy!"

2008 Elections

We are getting ready to enter a new year where we must choose who will be the next leader of our nation. This is an important election. The media emphasizes every bad thing that President Bush does instead of emphasizing on the good things he has done while in office. In doing this, the viewers and readers fall susceptible to every word and every view that is expressed to them by the media. They, in a sense, jump on the media's band wagon. I believe that society has reached a point that they vote based on external things rather than internal personal things, such as, someones character. Society bases their favor towards a candidate on things like their appearance, their rhetoric, their popularity, things that look and sound good. A voter should base their vote on a candidate's character, integrity, honesty, and morals.
For example, what has Hillary Clinton actually accomplished while she has been the Senator of New York? Nothing! She is running for president based on the fact that she was married to Bill Clinton. This astonishes me, that she is actually thinks that she could be a good president. I don't believe this a bit. She has no platform on anything. Mrs. Clinton has only one thing, a health plan. Or had a health plan! She proposed a a health plan called Hillary Care that would provide even more medical help, insurance for everyone, medicaid for everyone, and whatever else she had in mind at the time. Does any of this sound familiar: universal health care, universal insurance, etc. I don't know about you but it sounds pretty socialistic to me. Just think, if Mrs. Clinton was our next president do you see the things we have to look forward to: higher taxes, higher minimum wage, higher everything! This spectacular Hillary Care plan would cost millions even billions of taxpayers dollars. How happy would that make you?
So, I urge you to look into all of the candidates and to vote based on your moral convictions rather than on the things of this world.

Over and Done With

I am coping and trying to pull myself back together after that dreadful performance by my Jayhawks. Mizzou showed up to play and they didn't seem ready for it. But hey, look at the upside of things. They got their first loss out of the way, its horrible that it had to be to their arch-rival, but still. They got it out of their system and now they can move on to GREATNESS!!! They can now win the Big12 and go on to the National Championship game where they will come out victorious!!!

11 Down, A Few More To Go!!!

Wow! What can I say. My University of Kansas Jayhawks are sitting at No.2 in the Nation! BBBBBOOOOOOOYYYYAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!! ROCK, CHALK, JAYHAWK, KKKKKKUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!! Aww! I love it. I am psyched that my Jayhawks have gotten this far, but from here it only gets harder. This week is the Border Brawl! The University of Kansas vs. the University of Missouri. The match up of the year for KU and MU fans. This will also be a hard game for them. MU is ranked No.4 in the nation. Kansas needs to win this game. If Kansas wins then they will get the first seed in the Big12 championship. If they win the Big12 Championship then we will be probably be looking at a National Title game!!!

A New Crew Leader

As of last night, I am now a Crew Leader at Mancino's. You are probably asking what that is. When you first start out at Mancino's, you are a cashier. With this job, it includes making the orders, keeping everything cleaned up, doing dishes, and other stuff like that. After you have been there for awhile, they teach you how to run the oven. At Mancino's we run our all of our sandwiches or Grinders, as we call them, through the oven. As you can imagine, running the oven can get very hectic. Generally, you have to be there for anywhere from 4-6 months before they will teach you the oven. There are different levels of "privileges" that an employee is allowed. Their is the Store Manager, which manages the whole store and the employees at that store. Then there are the Shift managers, who are over their shift; Shift Leaders, who are leaders of their shifts just with less privileges than the Shift Manager; Crew Leaders, who are the leaders of the crew working that shift and receive basic privileges like closing down the registers at night, stuff like that. There is also the Cashiers, who are your basic employees. I am excited about my "Upgrade", you could call it. I am thankful to God for the position he has put me in there at Mancino's.

Big12, Here We Come!

BOOYAH!!! My University of Kansas Jayhawks have broken into the BCS Top Ten. They are sitting at a outstanding no.4. To most this would not be that big of a deal, but you must understand that the Jayhawks football team is usually a little lacking, if you know what I mean. Kansas has never been known for a good football team in almost a century. This year, Kansas is 9-0 and 5-0 in the Big12 North. This is their best since 1909. For 98 years, Kansas hasn't had a team to be proud of. But now, Jayhawk fans all around have a team to cheer for once again. By the pace that the Jayhawks are on, I think we Jayhawk fans might see our team in a BCS bowl. Yes, we are undefeated, but we aren't getting as much recognition because we have a relatively easier schedule than BCS favorites like Ohio State, Florida, and USC.

The Big 3 in Beantown!

The biggest news in the sports world this summer was the Boston Celtics acquisition of both Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. These two veterans, I think will be perfect for the Celtics. Even though they traded most of their bench and "young blood" for these two, I think it will pan out. Paul Pierce has carried that team for years, without any or little help. The best years for the Celtics were the years that Antoine Walker was in their lineup. Walker and Pierce shared the leadership position and its responsibilities. Now with 3 All-Stars, they have 3 court leaders. This could be very good or very bad. They could either work together or they could self destruct. This very same situation has been happening to the Knicks for the last few years. If you remember, a couple years ago the Knickerbockers picked up Jamal Crawford and Steve Francis. Everyone thought that they were going to be an incredible force to be reckoned with in the east. Yeah! It was the exact opposite. They self destructed. They had absolutely no chemistry. Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis were both wanting the lead roll. But, Francis couldn't stand being the #2 guy. Francis was to use to being the Franchise player that when he was made the first man off the bench he just kinda went into a tail spin. That whole team has fallen apart. They have good talent but no chemistry.
Garnett, Allen, and Pierce have a firm footing. They have all been friends since they were in high school. They realize that they need to be the ones that step up and that they are the examples for the young players. This whole season depends on whether they can play as a team and if they can play well as a team. If, and only if, they can develop a great team chemistry, I think we'll be seeing them in the Finals this year, and possibly putting up a 17th banner!

To Be A Pilgrim

Here is my principle's blog... go and check it out!

Rock! Chalk! Jayhawk! Go KU!!!

I love the good ole blue, red, and white of my University of Kansas Jayhawks. I have been a fan of KU since I was in elementary. I was hooked by their basketball team. The University of Kansas is known for their outstanding medical program and facilities, their men's basketball, and hopefully this year their football team. Normally, KU is not associated with a good football team but as of rite now they have made it in the top 15 in the BCS standings. I am proud of my Jayhawks. They are 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big12. They are currently first in the Big12. I might add also that they are ranked above their border rival Missouri. This is just icing on the cake. I am definitely proud of my Jayhawks.

Oh...The Madness!

As I have stated in my description of me(if you read it), I love sports. Most any kind of sports there are. But my one true love, is for college basketball. I wait patiently and exuberantly for the one time of year that matters the most...MARCH! This is best time of the whole year. The bitter chills of winter are starting to fade away as the dew is starting to appear on newly budded foliage. You can feel it in the air...It's March Madness. The ultimate road to the Final Four. A road that has seen so many remarkable, phenomenal, and even claimed to be impossible upsets and victories.
We have seen the likes of great underdogs, like Texas Western and George Mason, battle and shock the sports world with electrifying upsets of powerhouse teams such as: Kentucky in '66 and UConn in '06. This is what I love. Seeing, the said to be impossible upsets, made possible. March Madness is where legends are made in NCAA basketball.
