Hall of Famers

The Buffalo Germans was one of the first professional basketball teams. The team was started by Dr. Fred W. Berkhardt at a YMCA on the east side of Buffalo. Dr. Berkhardt completed Dr. James Naismith's Phys. Ed. class in 1891. From there, Berkhardt went to Buffalo and received a job at the YMCA. It was here that he taught this group of youngsters the game of basketball. He had tremendous success. As a junior team, they went undefeated. After the team joined the men's league, their success continued. They soon became a dominant force. Between 1908-1910, the Buffalo Germans won 111 straight games.

My Time Is Coming To An End

There is only thirty-eight days until I graduate from high school. I am filled with so many mixed emotions. I cannot wait to be done with high school, done with homework, and done with getting up early every morning. Yet, I am anxious/nervous bout going off to college. I guess this is a natural feeling for most kids wen they get to this point in life. I am preparing myself to leap out into the unknown of college life. This is where you truly find out about yourself. This is when you decide what kind of a man/woman you are going to be for the rest of your life. You have to depend on God for your every need, because mom and dad are no longer there to provide for you or help you. I am anxious though. I am ready to move on to much bigger and better things in the days ahead.

We Are The Champions...

Wow...what a ride. This year has been an awesome year to be a KU fan. For the first time, in like...EVER, they had a ranked football team. Not only ranked, but in the top five. Now, onto basketball. I planned on the Jayhawks to go to the Final Four...from there it was faith. I knew they were good enough to make it that far, but I didn't realize their full potential. Throughout the semi-final and final game, they played at the top of their ability. I was so proud of these guys. As you know, the Jayhawks have had a history of falling short, or not stepping up and playing to their potential; but this year was different, and you could tell it. I am so excited that they have achieved this goal. They were in a similar situation a few years ago, but fell short to a young Syracuse team. That was a heart breaker, but I kept my faith in my Jayhawks and kept cheering. I am satisfied...for now...well until next season!!!

The Final Four!!!

The Jayhawks have made it to the Final Four!!! They have played well so far. Their last game was a close one. I think I might have skipped breathe or two. I give credit to Davidson though. They were a #10 seed n they beat both #2 Georgetown, as well as, #3 Wisconsin and they gave us the run for our money! Now this is where it starts getting tricky. North Carolina is a good team, but there is nothing sweeter than beating your former coach. Besides, they just won the title a couple years ago with May, McCants, and Felton. It's our turn now. Go JAYHAWKS!!!

No. 1 Seed!

Hurrah!!! Kansas has been given the #1 seed in the Midwest division. I am so pumped and excited. This year has to be the year that they make a title run. There are only a few strong teams that stand in their way. If they make it to the final four, they will have to play North Carolina which would be a phenomenal game to watch. Should they beat UNC, They would have to face Memphis in the title game. That is the scary part. Memphis is such and explosive team. They run the court better than most teams. Kansas' keys to beating them would be by matching their guards up with theirs. Chalmers and Collins are ball thieves, You have to keep an eye on what you're doing or next thing you know they will be down the court making a layup. This is the key to their success. They don't have much for big men but they have three good guards up top. I can't wait to see what my Jayhawks are going to do this year!

The Champs Are Here!!!

You are looking at the next NCAA Champions! The University of Kansas Jayhawks! I have high hopes for them in the upcoming tournament. Hopefully this year they can break out of their rut and finally accomplish their goal of being the National Champions!
